Nanaimo, B.C. –

Before Michelle Gagnon figured out her that her cat liked participating in fetch outside in the snow, Bodhi was a skittish kitten.

“He’d be like, ‘This is kinda scary,’” Michelle states, imagining her cat’s minimal voice.

Bodhi was also truly curious about the outdoor, so Michelle began getting him for walks about the block on a leash.

It took a whilst for the cat to be comfy, but the moment he was: “He preferred to be outside every second of the working day,” she states.

So, when that very first winter season rolled all over, Michelle and Bodhi started snowboarding with each other.

“I’d say ‘load-up’ and he’d run up to my shoulders,” Michelle suggests, in advance of showing a video of the cat perched beside her head as she skied down a slope.

That direct to summers filled with climbing up mountains together and cycling long distance alongside one another (Michelle was responsible for peddling the bike and patting Bodhi in the front basket).

“Wherever I went, I’d just choose him with me,” she smiles.

Michelle started out sharing their adventures on land as a result of her “Bodhi the Experience Cat” Instagram webpage before introducing him to h2o.

“He was like a magnet,” she says, re-enacting how drawn he was to the drinking water.

She says Bohdi started out pawing the liquid for a while, right before strolling right in.

“I considered, ‘Wow!’” Michelle laughs. “I should buy Bodhi a paddle board!”

So she did. And paddle-boarding collectively led to what Michelle claims is now Bodhi’s favourite activity to do with her — kayaking.

“He just gets to sit there and view the shoreline and smell the smells,” Michelle smiles, prior to exhibiting images of Bodhi perched on the front of the kayak.

The cat also alerts her to passing wildlife, from otters to orcas.

Bodhi usually spots creatures Michelle would not have noticed on land way too. There are photos of the cat viewing a big ram and a very little bear.

“You simply cannot get something by a cat,” Michelle suggests. “They see almost everything.”

They also end to practical experience almost everything, all the time.

“Kitty adventuring is not for folks who want direct results,” Michelle laughs.

And that, Michelle states — the point that her cat is not an adrenaline-junky, purpose oriented, Form-A adventurer — is the best portion about becoming with Bohdi.

“You have to go with the flow, enjoy your time in nature,” Michelle smiles. “And appreciate all the minor issues that they clearly show you.”
